I came across these articles in the New York Times this morning, as I was doing my morning online newspaper browsing.
I love how the author, Amy Baker, combines practical, helpful tips and reminds us how good it feels to be helpful, and for those times when we are need, that friends and family truly do want to help you.

Magic Central
My friend Brendon encouraged me to post again. :)
Here's one about a man who was born with a bone disorder, but is otherwise completely fine intellectually. He was picked on by the kids in his school, but a cool, new principal came to his school and started teaching him---magic tricks.
Now he's a professional magician and owns his own magic store:

Amazing.

The Kindness of Strangers (2)
Stories about kindness bestowed by strangers always get to me. :)
Here's a lovely one about a man who rode his bicycle across the United States, and, to me, experienced a miracle every day:

What to Do With All Those Leftovers!!

Now this, this is a GREAT IDEA!!!!
Call Food Runners, and they will pick up your leftover food and redistribute it to the hungry.
I have so much Pirate's Booty (long story--I bought a ton of it at Costco to bring to my brother in Munich, where it is not sold, and then realized that I had no room for it in the suitcase) that I should call these guys.

Really Cool Way to Celebrate Thanksgiving
I have thought about doing this before but was too afraid of the kinds of responses I'd get.
These gracious people actually posted an ad on Craigslist, inviting people in need to their home for Thanksgiving. So cool.
